I grew up in Goldthwaite, Texas, a very small town with a very big football team (Go Eagles!). I went on to graduate from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor's in Public Relations and Marketing and worked for a local communications company in Austin for several years. While working in the private sector, I realized that my true calling was to work with children and help them to prepare for their futures. I went back to school and received my teaching certification for middle school Language Arts and I have taught at schools in Del Valle, San Marcos, and Pflugerville. In 2009, I went back to school yet again to begin working on my Master's in Education Administration. I also married my husband, Shane, who is also an educator and teaches mathematics at the college level. In May 2010, we were blessed with identical twin boys, named Alexander and Ashton. I have now been at Kelly Lane for the last ten years and truly love being here. It's a great campus full of wonderful educators and students and I consider myself very lucky to be here!
I am passionate about teaching and I hope to make every day a fun and engaging one for your child! If a bit of love for reading, writing, or even overall learning rubs off on your child, I feel that I have succeeded as an educator. I want to do whatever I can to ensure that your child likes or loves to read! I do my best to make class fun and enjoyable, all while learning is constantly taking place.
When not in the classroom, I like to spend my free time in the water (swimming, wake-boarding, boating, etc.), reading, writing, crafting, and spending time with my family!
